It begins. Let's take your ideas and carefully, tactically, skillfully jam them onto a hard drive or tape reel. Be it an album, overdub, audiobook, voice over, really anything that involves sound in a space, I'm there for it.
I can join you in your favorite recording space, or if you need help choosing where to do the dance, I have worked in many of Nashville's best studios and am more than willing to help you pick the perfect location. Just grab your stuff and start making noise. I’ll point mics at you and happiness will follow.
I very much enjoy tapping into the energy or emotion of a particular track and using the mix process to enhance the vision you established during recording or production.
Whether you've just multi-tracked your 7-piece band, or meticulously programmed your next Trap banger, I want to help you weave all those signals together into a mix that is as technically sound as it is emotionally compelling.
Ah, Mastering. The forbidden magic, the primordial science, the dark art... Join me as we scry runic circles, recite ancient incantations, and make ritual sacrifices to the Loudness Gods. This is where I spend most of my time these days.
In all seriousness, it's far less complicated than many in my profession would lead you to believe. Additionally, the definition of the mastering process has blurred somewhat in the age of digital audio. While there are still many artists who require the full spectrum of traditional mastering services (album sequencing, prep for replication, QC of replicated media) there are just as many talented noise makers who do not require as many steps to get their digital singles out into the wild.
Be it that you just need a single stereo WAV file polished to perfection, or you have a collection of tracks that need to be edited, sequenced, and used to produce a DDP file, I am here for you. Let's finalize those vibrations in style.
Hey there, I'm Evan, some call me Wilber, it's nice to meet you. I do sound stuff.
Most people come to me for mastering, but in the event you need tracking or mixing services, I want to aid in your endeavors. I have a broad skill set and years of diverse experience in creating, capturing, and shaping sounds. I've spent years engineering music rooted in more traditional instrumentation - jazz groups, chamber, and choral ensembles, you name it. I've been based out of Nashville TN for about 7 years now, and in my time here I've been fortunate to work on numerous rock, country, pop, and bluegrass sessions, among others.
Regardless of musical style, all that matters to me is that you're invested in your work and you feel good about the direction it's taking. I don't consider myself an engineer with a signature sound. Instead, I prefer to focus on cultivating your sound and helping present it to the world in the way you feel is best.
